Christmas is Coming!

Its that time of year again and I think I may have slightly over-committed myself with not one, not two but three exhibitions opening in one week!

The first to open on Wednesday 14th November was Ty Meirion’s Seasonal Exhibition, featuring work from a whole host of talented local artists inspired by Ocean and Mountains. Ty Meirion is a lovely new gallery and B&B in Dyffryn Ardydwy which opened in August this year, definitely worth checking out 🙂

Then yesterday, 16th November, was the grand opening of Oriel Mon’s renowned Christmas Exhibition: I don’t think I’ve ever worked so hard to get over 300 items created, individually priced and listed AND built a brand new display!!!

Very pleased how well it all came together and the exhibition as a whole is really lovely this year with oodles of gorgeous gifts created by local artists and crafters – well worth a visit!

Now I’m off to Bangor Arts Initiative Gallery to set up my corner of their End of Year Show ready for opening tomorrow Sunday 18th, excited to see who else is taking part! In this exhibition I’ll be showcasing artwork in a botanical Art Deco theme, including woven and crochet hangings, ink paintings, jewelry and clothing.

Then it’s another feverish stint of creating to get a whole stall’s worth of stock created for Pensychnant Conservation Centre’s Christmas Fair on Saturday 8th December, plus restocking Oriel Mon and Trigonos Shop in Nantlle!!! My latest additions to Phia’s range of goodies are Organic Buckwheat Cushions ideal for yoga and meditation, as well as weaving kits and lovely Welsh Wool Packs, hand processed and hand dyed and packaged in a 100% recycled card box 🙂

Looking forward to a bit of a breather in January and my Upholstery Weekender Workshop on 16th/17th February- there are still a couple of places left if anyone would like to join us, plus there are still two places available on my Wild Weaving Workshop in May but hurry, their filling up fast!

Wishing you all a fun filled and fruitful festive season,

Sophia
